before you begin.
What is envispeed?
envispeed is a Vietnamese and English input method in active development, starting with macOS. It aims to reduce interruptions when moving between Telex, English, and technical terminology.
How is it different from a traditional input method?
Use Telex keystrokes for Vietnamese accents. With automatic switching enabled, envispeed applies rules to recognize English words and keep their original spelling. AI-assisted recognition is a research direction.
Do I still need to switch languages manually?
The rules can reduce switching in supported situations, but recognition is not guaranteed for every sentence. You can still switch using the menu bar or a shortcut, and undo an automatic correction by pressing Delete immediately afterward.
Which operating systems are supported?
A preview is available for macOS 13 and later, supporting Apple Silicon and Intel. Windows, iOS, and Android are planned directions with no installers available yet.
Can I download envispeed today?
Yes, macOS preview 0.1.1 is on GitHub Releases. The installer is Apple Development signed and not notarized, so macOS may block it when downloaded from the Internet. This is a preview rather than a stable release; read the release notes before installing.
Does the website demo use real AI?
No. The demo replays three examples from the app’s typing practice, using the engine output after each keystroke. Use the macOS app to try other text.
Does the app update automatically?
Not yet. The website download points to the GitHub Release marked Latest. Download and install new versions manually. You can follow development and share feedback in the GitHub repository.
